Hexis Pure Zone® is a protective film composed of a 60-micron transparent cast PVC layer containing antimicrobial agents, covered with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. It is designed for effective and long-lasting protection of surfaces in areas requiring a high degree of hygiene – public areas, public transport vehicles, agri-food facilities, wet rooms, kindergartens, pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and medical offices, etc.

Especially in medical facilities and nursing homes, hospital-acquired infections (HAI) continue to be a massive risk, particularly for patients who are already weakened. Therefore, high-touch surfaces must have integrated antimicrobial protection to interrupt the chain of transmission through contact.

PURE ZONE® film contains silver ions that are released from the top layer when it comes into contact with moisture. These reactive ions quickly block and destroy bacteria, preventing them from multiplying between two cleaning and disinfection operations.

Where has Hexis Pure Zone® been successfully used?

To improve the hygienic conditions of public transport vehicles, the city of Draguignan in southern France decided to equip all their buses with Hexis Pure Zone® antimicrobial film.

Hygiene issues can discourage people from using public transport. Hexis antimicrobial films solve the problem by stopping bacterial proliferation and thus ensuring durable 24-hour protection throughout the year. The antimicrobial film was applied to all panels and handrails in the passenger area of the buses.

Hexis Pure Zone® uses active biocidal ingredients that protect various surfaces against bacterial colonization and other microbes. The effectiveness is documented and scientifically proven through analyses conducted by Intertek France (for details consult the brochure and certificate of analysis).

Although the active substances used have an antimicrobial effect, effectiveness against COVID-19 has not yet been explicitly confirmed. Experts are very active in conducting tests.
